Midea RAC Appears in Energy-Efficiency Star Approval Catalogue
To promote high efficiency products and direct the transformation of production and consumption, the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of The People’s Republic of China) started an energy efficiency evaluation in 2012 for products that participate in the Project for Energy Saving & Benefit to People. The evaluation focuses on performance in terms of energy efficiency, and aims to provide consumers a guideline for products that are economical and environmentally friendly. The high visibility of the Energy-Efficiency Star logo allows consumers to recognize approved products quickly and easily. The 2013 Catalogue of Energy-Efficiency Star products was recently released, and covers 11 categories of household appliances, among which Midea has 3 air conditioners, including a split model and two inverter floor-standing models. The Energy-Efficiency Star approval is valid for 2 years, while the MIIT works jointly with relevant departments to study further and establish proper incentives for government procurement, bulk company purchases, daily consumption, and to raise awareness and popularity of energy efficient products.
