Refrigerator is of good quality, works very well and efficient in maintaining temperature control both upper and lower sections. Produces the normal sounds a refrigerator makes, nothing unusual. I would recommend.
Review by Dmaltroy 21/08/2021We needed an18 Cu. Ft. top-mounted combo freezer/fridge to replace a leaking old troublesome one in the garage. After one week, the unit is working perfectly without any noise or heat issues. It is actually very quiet. So far, it's good. Lowes delivered this in two days free of charge! Why wait? Midea actually makes units for GE, so, go for it. You can't beat the savings.
Review by Gersimus 18/08/2021This is the perfect refrigerator for extra storage in my basement. We hold drinks and extra food or frozen items in the freezer. I like that it has a reversible door so we were able to fit it in the perfect spot by swapping the door opening. I also like the recessed handles, easy to open, keep clean and they don't stick out.
Review by Joe 02/12/2020I'm a renter, so I didn't get to have a say in the fridge my landlord decided to buy for my home. I don't have a problem with it making noise like some of the other commenters have experienced. My issue is with the internal design. In order to be able to fit a gallon of milk in this fridge, I had to move a shelf down another notch to make room. Now there is only a small space there between the top of the crisper bin and the next shelf above it. Barely big enough to fit anything unless the item is flat. The only other choice is to remove one of the shelves entirely which leaves one big, gaping refrigerator where things just get thrown on top of each other. It's a poor design.

Review by MRS. M 13/03/2022I concur w/ Tracy and G.G. First off, the pat answer Midea is replying with is disingenuous: "We would like to help you with this, please contact us at…."; giving people the impression they are responding & helping people with the noise complaint. They're not. I read these reviews & sent my first email directly to the email listed here. My husband also called them at the number listed here and emailed them: "Our issue is with the noise the unit makes. It emanates loud whirring/grinding/screeching sounds that at times sounds like an elephant trumpeting...We had hoped that the noise problem was due to it being a new refrigerator. We did all the troubleshooting we could & made sure that the unit is perfectly level on all sides. But even two months later, the noises persist. Obviously, these LOUD, strange noises are unacceptable coming from ANY refrigerator, let alone a brand new one. They are monumentally worse than the sounds that were coming from our 20-year-old refrigerator right before it quit for good." We sent them recordings & numerous emails. Their ultimate response: "Thank you for providing the audio file. ..We took a look at the audio (a "look"?) & concluded that the sound is within an acceptable level. ..the sound emitted by the unit is deemed normal. Sounds that are considered normal: A Chirping/barking/woof/howl sound can …be heard as the damper door opens/closes. A boiling, gurgling, or knocking sound can be heard when the unit is running.." This refrigerator is a piece of noisemaking garbage. The reviewers who didn't complain about the noise have their units in their garage or basement. Perhaps they're not present to hear the elephant/cat/sick cow "concert". Buyer beware on this one..unless you are deaf. We are going to replace this refrig. because we cannot live with this noise. We both work from home & it is intolerable & NOT normal. Nobody I know has a refrigerator that sounds like this, except, well..us—but not for long—worst purchase we EVER made!
Review by DA 08/02/2022I purchased this refrigerator a few weeks ago. It's noisy, constant chirping & squawking. I was told by Midea that this is normal and was denied a refund or exchange. Would not recommend.
