The M Thermal Nature heat pump provides whole-home heating and cooling and seamlessly integrates with other energy management components via the Midea Nature Series control system.

High efficiency

Thanks to DC inverter technology, the M Thermal Nature heat pump achieves EU energy efficiency class A+++ at 55°C/35°C water temperature, balancing ecological standards with economic efficiency.

Due to the outstanding thermodynamic properties of R290 and advanced heat pump technology, M Thermal Nature delivers high performance even in severe cold while using minimal refrigerant charge. R290 is high-purity propane with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP=0). Its ultra-low GWP of 3 significantly reduces direct greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional alternatives, supporting overall emission reduction.

System Safety Design

The safety design features explosion protection for circuitry and wiring, alongside a fully enclosed electrical control enclosure. The refrigerant and water systems include anti-freeze detection in the plate heat exchanger as well as isolated maintenance access for refrigeration and hydraulic components.

Electric back-up heater

An electric heater with a capacity of 3 or 9 kW is integrated directly into the heat pump. The heater provides a reliable back-up heat source during peak demand or unexpected heat pump downtime, while also providing auxiliary freeze protection.

Freeze protection

When the circulating water temperature drops below a set threshold, the system automatically heats the water using the heat pump, auxiliary heater, or external heat source. The anti-freeze protection remains active until the water temperature safely rises above the set level.

Holiday mode

During holidays, the "Holiday Away" function protects the installation from freezing according to local weather conditions. Once enabled, the unit operates in heating or domestic hot water mode at an energy-saving setback temperature for the configured period.

Underfloor protection

For newly installed underfloor heating systems, the screed drying function gradually removes residual moisture from the screed and subfloor to prevent warping or cracking. Additionally, the preheating function gently warms the floor pipes at the start of the heating season to prevent thermal shock and structural floor damage.

Intelligent defrost function

By monitoring ambient temperature, heat exchanger temperature, water temperature, and compressor runtime, the heat pump performs an intelligent defrost cycle to quickly restore heating performance while avoiding unnecessary defrosting and heat loss.

Whisper-quiet operation

Noise reduction at the source via:

✓ Optimized compressor components, low-frequency piping structure, and a large, aerodynamically curved low-noise axial fan

✓ Streamlined refrigerant piping design

✓ 2-stage silent mode that lowers compressor and fan frequencies for quiet operation

✓ Silent water pump mode that regulates maximum circulation pump output to reduce overall operating noise

Intuitive controls

The wall-mounted controller features a premium tempered glass panel with a metallic frame and a 3.5-inch color display with an intuitive interface and standby mode. Homebus communication uses a simple 2-wire non-polar connection, alongside native Modbus support, built-in Wi-Fi, and OTA (over-the-air) firmware updates. The Midea SmartHome app allows users to monitor and control heat pump operations anytime from anywhere.

Sensor redundancy / Backup function

Weather-compensated heating curves

This function automatically adjusts water supply temperature based on outdoor and indoor temperatures. 8 preset climate curves and 1 customizable user curve cover standard applications and ensure optimal comfort across diverse conditions.

Energy consumption monitoring

The built-in energy monitoring function calculates energy output and the renewable energy share. Users can view detailed energy analytics via the controller interface, mobile app, and web portal based on an advanced compressor power calculation algorithm.

Automatic switching between heat pump and auxiliary heat source

Intelligent bivalent switching between the heat pump and an auxiliary heat source based on economic parameters (gas vs. electricity tariffs) to ensure optimal system efficiency.
