Madrid, 1 July 2026 — As summers become hotter across Europe, many households are facing a growing challenge: they need effective cooling, but their homes do not always allow for conventional air-conditioning installation.
By combining split-system performance with the flexibility of a portable solution, PortaSplit offers effective cooling without wall drilling, major construction work or professional installation. Its connected indoor and outdoor units allow consumers to enjoy split-system comfort in a format that can be installed simply, adapted to different window types and relocated when needed.
A New Solution for European Homes
PortaSplit is particularly relevant for European households where conventional AC installation may be difficult, including rental homes, city apartments, older buildings, bedrooms, attic rooms and home offices.
Its portable split design helps bridge the gap between conventional portable air conditioners and traditional split systems. Compared with standard portable ACs, the separated indoor and outdoor units help deliver stronger cooling performance and quieter indoor operation. Compared with traditional split systems, PortaSplit offers greater installation flexibility and can be relocated when needed.
Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, Midea continues to develop products around the way people actually live — taking into account local climate, housing conditions, installation limitations and everyday usage habits.
Consumer Response and Availability
Since its European launch in 2024, PortaSplit has seen strong demand across multiple European markets, with more than 300,000 units sold to date. Recent heatwaves have further accelerated consumer demand, with availability temporarily affected as demand continues to outpace supply.
