Midea SMART MASTER Brings an AI-Powered Home Ecosystem to Life at IFA 2026

BERLIN, GERMANY, Sept. 5, 2026 – Midea, one of the brands within the Smart Home Business of Fortune Global 500 company Midea Group, is placing SMART MASTER at the centre of its IFA 2026 showcase.

Part of the wider Midea Suite launched under this year’s “Simply idealphilosophy, SMART MASTER is Midea’s AI-powered home ecosystem, built around a simple ambition: to create a smart home that listens, understands and responds naturally, making intelligence a seamless part of everyday life.

A Home That Understands, Morning to Night

For people, voice is one of the most natural and effortless ways to interact with technology. That is why the AI Agent sits at the centre of the ecosystem. Supporting 140 languages with an 8-metre voice-recognition range and a 0.4-second response time, it understands users’ intent and enables continuous conversations without requiring the wake word to be repeated.

Appliance-native voice entry points are integrated into the air conditioner, refrigerator and built-in oven. Users can also access the system through external entry points, including the Midea app, in-car systems, smart speakers and phone voice assistants, allowing interactions to continue across different devices and settings.

The AI Agent turns voice interactions into personalised support across the everyday routines of home life.

Across Europe, rising electricity prices and growing pressure to reduce carbon emissions are making smarter energy management an increasingly important consideration for households. Efficiency Agent is designed to help households manage energy use while maintaining everyday comfort. Its whole-home dashboard provides an overview of consumption trends, solar contribution, energy costs and emissions avoided. When solar generation is at its peak, the system can automatically operate appliances such as the washing machine and robot vacuum using available solar power. When solar generation is lower, these tasks can be scheduled for periods when electricity tariffs are more favourable. The system manages energy use in the background, helping households make better use of available power for greater convenience and flexibility.

When you arrive home after a long day, your car triggers Welcome Home mode. Comfort Agent coordinates the air conditioner, humidifier and washer-dryer pair, combining household comfort preferences with real-time outdoor conditions. The AC’s millimetre-wave radar tracks your position and adjusts the airflow accordingly, while the humidifier works alongside it to maintain balanced humidity. Meanwhile, the laundry pair takes care of clothes through smart dosing and sensor-based drying. You simply settle in and enjoy your time at home.

By dinnertime, deciding what to cook can feel like another task to manage. Health Agent helps take that pressure away by understanding your family’s dietary habits. A voice request prompts the refrigerator to scan ingredients, track freshness, and recommend the healthiest, most delicious recipes for your household. The recipe then automatically coordinates with other kitchen appliances. The built-in oven’s Smart AI Vision System recognises ingredients and monitors food temperature during cooking, with voice control allowing you to start or stop the oven, adjust the temperature and select cooking functions. The induction hob and hood respond together as cooking conditions change, while the dual-zone air fryer finishes two dishes simultaneously. With fewer settings to manage, you focus less on appliances and more on bringing everyone together.

Many households face a familiar frustration: too many appliances, too many settings and, when something goes wrong, hours spent searching through manuals or tutorials. The Service Agent brings these everyday tasks together in one place. A coffee machine error can be diagnosed through a photo or real-time video call, with illustrated guidance provided when needed. After a grocery trip, a photograph of the receipt can be used to identify ingredients, track freshness and update fridge inventory. For clothing care, simply scan the care label to set the appropriate washing programme. The Service Agent is also the industry’s first AI assistant to support real-time video calls. By seeing an issue directly, it can provide guidance as you work through it. This is just the beginning. Your Service Agent acts as a dedicated home concierge, ready to support you whenever you need it.

AI also takes on a physical form to interact with the world. Within the SMART MASTER showcase, Midea Robot brings AI into the physical world through a series of live demonstrations at the IFA booth. These include one robot handling tableware and dish baskets, another preparing popcorn and handing it to visitors, and a bipedal robot greeting the audience, waving and dancing.

The interactions offer a practical introduction to Midea’s exploration of next-generation embodied intelligence and robotics. Built on the EAGLES system architecture and powered by four multimodal foundation models, Midea Robot is designed to support laundry, kitchen and cleaning tasks, provide companionship and care services, and enable whole-home intelligent control.

These innovations are on show at Midea’s IFA booth: Hall 5.1, Messe Berlin, Messedamm 22, 14055 Berlin.
