Powerful, efficient cooling for the whole room. The Midea DUO Smart Inverter Portable Air Conditioner offers real cool performance that offers 2x the cooling power compared to traditional portable air conditioners. The DUO hose design keeps the cool air inside, and forces the hot air out while cycling fresh air back into the room.

I just purchased this unit and couldn't be happier. Every company's devices have an occasional faulty unit, so take that two star review with a grain of salt. This portable AC is made of far more durable parts than the Haier unit that just blew up after 5 summers in Ontario Canada. This install was much easier, due to the solid panels and robust hose clip mechanism; but portables aren't ever easy in casement windows. But it's all that's allowed here in this building and Im very happy with this unit's performance and relatively low noise level. If it lasts, I'll be ecstatic, as it cools 550 sq,ft much better, even with a temporary emergency installation that didn't allow time to plug every little gap yet. I'm truly pleasantly surprised so far. Ill register on the Canadian site but wanted to off-set that overly negative review that I just came across. I have no association with Midea; in fact, I'd never heard of them until five days ago!
Review by Hellenback 30/05/2023Used for cooling the main floor of an old house, approximately 530 square feet. The unit has been very effective at keeping the house comfortable. Very quiet; almost never notice it running. The air can be directed up to the ceiling so it doesn't blow straight on you if your in the room. The dual hose, separating intake and exhaust, is a great feature, as it doesn't create negative pressure inside. Would definitely buy again.
Review by Cool and Comfortable 29/05/2023This is a replacement for another portable air conditioner. We are pleased with the cooling capabilities but not happy with the window kit. The foam to help with gaps is so thin it doesn't do much and I have a feeling it is going to be very difficult to remove at the end of the season. The window slider keeps partially coming out of one side of the window as the brace doesn't work due to being too big. So maybe the next model's window can be redesigned or maybe some to make it more secure?
Review by Sue 29/06/2023I bought this unit based on the low dB rating, only 42 in cooling mode. I'm using this in my small bedroom, the capacity is much higher than what I need, but it's the smallest inverter unit I could find. Most of the time, the unit works well: Cools quickly, operates quietly. At night, I set the constant fan speed to low, leave it in cool mode, and fall asleep to a quiet unit. Big problem: Every ~1h, for some reason the fan ramps up significantly and loudly for ~2min before returning to low. There is no beeping or other noise during that time. The settings remain unchanged. It's very loud, I'd guess >50 dB. As loud as when the unit is in high fan mode. The noise is annoying, but more annoying still is the intermittent nature of it. A constant white noise is OK when sleeping, but not this big variation. An inverter is supposed to avoid this by making constant small adjustments to motor speed, this is the opposite of that. I contacted Midea for support, they say it is normal operations. According to them, the advertised "as low as 42dB in cooling mode" does not mean it is constant, and the loud fluctuations fall within the design. On another note, the duo hose does not flex side to side, only in one axis. The AC fan blades only move up/down, in the same axis as the hose. What this means is that if you want to orient the air left/right in a room, you just can't. It's not as annoying as the noise issue, but it's something to be aware of. I have to return this unit, and am warning against Midea based on their misrepresentation of such an important feature.
