Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Noises from the oven and what they mean.

    Rattling or Banging Noise:

    Possible Causes:

    Loose oven racks or pans.

Loose or damaged parts inside the oven.

    Solution:

Check and ensure that all oven racks and pans are properly placed and not loose.

Inspect the interior for any loose components. If found, tighten or secure them.

    Clicking or Ticking Noise:

    Possible Causes:

Expansion and contraction of metal parts during heating and cooling.

Igniter is clicking during the oven ignition process.

    Solution:

This can be normal and may not require any action. Ensure it's not accompanied by any other issues.

    Fan Noise:

    Possible Causes:

Convection ovens have fans for even heating.

    Solution:

The fan noise is typically normal. However, if it becomes excessively loud or irregular, it may indicate an issue with the fan motor. Please contact our customer support.

    Popping or Cracking Noise:

    Possible Causes:

Uneven expansion and contraction of oven parts during heating and cooling.

    Solution:

This can be normal. If it's excessive or accompanied by other issues, please contact customer support.

    Buzzing or Humming Noise:

    Possible Causes:

Electrical issues or humming from the heating elements.

    Solution:

If the noise persists or is accompanied by other issues, please contact our customer support.

Continuous Clicking After the Oven Is Turned Off:

    Possible Causes:

The cooling fan continues to run after use.

    Solution:

Allow the oven some time to cool down. If the noise persists for an extended period, please contact customer support.

  • Cooktop burners not lighting. What to check.

    Check the gas valve:

    • The gas shut-off valve is in the ON position, and the gas supply to the house remains active.
    •

    Burners and burner caps:

    • Check if the burners and burner caps are properly positioned on the cooktop
    •

    Burner ports cleaned:

    • Check that the opening around the perimeter of the burner top is not clogged.
    •

    The igniter is clean:

    • Clean the igniters and dry them.
  • Preheating times

If the range or wall oven is installed at its proper voltage (120 volts for gas and 240 volts for electric), you should expect the following preheat times for the oven:

    • Electric Ovens with hidden bake elements and Gas Ovens can take 15 to 20 minutes to preheat.
    • Electric Ovens with a hidden bake element and the Fast Preheat feature can take 7 to 10 minutes to preheat.
    •
    • Ovens with a Visible Bake Element can take 5 to 10 minutes to preheat.

This is the normal operation and expected preheat time for the oven. The preheat time cannot be altered. Factors that will affect the length of the preheat time are listed below:

    • Selected temperature (every 25-degree increment above a 350-degree set temperature will add approximately 45 to 60 seconds to the preheat time)
    •
    • Starting temperature of the oven
    •
    • Room temperature
    •
    • Number of racks in the oven (each additional rack will add approximately 30 seconds to the preheat time)
    •
    • A 208-volt installation rather than a 240-volt installation of an electric range or wall oven will increase the pre-heat time by 25%
    •
    • A below 105 volt installation of a gas range or wall oven will increase the preheat time

If the oven is taking much longer than normal to preheat:

    • First, turn off the circuit breaker for the range or wall oven. Wait 30 seconds and turn the breaker back on. This ensures that the circuit breaker is set correctly and the range or wall oven is receiving full power.
    •
    • If it was newly installed, we recommend having the installer check the power cord or power supply to ensure it is wired to the range or wall oven properly. Even if not newly installed, an electrician can check the power connections and power supply to the range or wall oven.
