THE PUMP FEATURE NEEDS TO BE UP GRADED TO INCLUDE A MANUAL TURN-ON OPTION. AS IT IS, YOU NEED TO WAIT TILL THE BUCKET IS FULL BEFORE THE PUMP WILL TURN ON AUTOMATICALLY. A FULL BUCKET WITH 6 GAL OF WATER IS TOO HEAVY TO MOVE EASILY WITHOUT SPLASHING. WE USE THE CUBE IN A FULLY CARPETED AREA AND CAN'T TOLERATE ANY SPILL. INITIALLY, WE RAN THE UNIT WITH THE FILL LEVEL SET TO 2 (OUT OF 4) AND MANUALLY DUMPED THE BUCKET. LEVEL 2 WITH 3 GAL OF WATER IS ALREADY VERY HEAVY. ONE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME I COULD SELECT ANY LEVEL 1 TO 4 AND ONCE THAT WAS REACHED, THE PUMP WOULD TURN ON. NOT SO. BUT UPGRADE TO THAT FEATURE AND INCLUDE A MANUAL TURN-ON AND YOU WOULD HAVE A PERFECT DEHUMIDIFIER.
Review by DRY AIR DUDE 25/09/2022I could not get the pump to work. After hours and also calling help line, ( person did not understand how pump should work either ) still couldn't get the pump to work. Found that once the water level in the bucket reached almost to the top of window and then it kicked on. IT DOES WORK! I found a vague referral to this in one of the comments by a owner. Very frustrating.
Review by Jan 24/08/2022The dehumidifier works well, but the WiFi cellphone app constantly crashes and becomes unusable.
Review by Humid Basement 18/09/2022I installed this product in a finished basement with three above ground walls. This product is very expensive and expected greater performance. I bought even though it received lower rating from Consumer Reports because user satisfaction for Midea dehumidifiers were overall exceptional. Humidity started at 51% and after four (4) days continuous operation has only lowered humidity to 46%. No casters makes this unit unmovable without having to disassembling it. Performance of what most people buy a dehumidifier, I.e. dehumidifying, is totally unacceptable. Bells and whistles like app don't make up for this lacking.
Review by Handylefty 14/01/2023The product is great in concept and worked well after initial install in crawl space. However, the unit will not pull down humidity after only three months of use. I even switched the drain option from hose to manual bucket; no water is collecting even though the unit is on and functioning. Very disappointed in the longevity of this product.
Review by Drew 11/10/2022Unit worked well, but dripped some water on the control buttons on top and that killed the unit.
