Easy to set up in my basement. The unit rapidly dehumidified a large basement pumping extracted water into a sink. The photos and verbiage in the instruction booklet could be better at explaining the pump and discharge setup. All and all a good unit.
Review by rnl 07/08/2023Best humidifier I have found (and I've had quite a few)! Super easy to set up with hose running to drain and controls the humidity with no issues at all! I would buy again and again! My only suggestion is a longer cord.
Review by Sophie's Mom 26/11/2022Keeps my mostly finished 2000 sq ft basement well controlled for humidity. No issues with heating the area
Review by Happy Customer 30/10/2021It is wonderful that this dehumidifier is compactable, but the small plastic parts holding the very heavy dehumidifier over the bucket are very flimsy, I feel like it'll break if I'm not extremely careful and slow when placing the dehumidifier on top of it. It is also a challenge to stow the dehumidifier back in the bucket. In order to empty this thing, you have to lift off the heavy dehumidifier, it's a heavy, two-hand lift. When you lift it off, water goes everywhere from flowing out of the dehumidifier. Then you have the next challenge of lifting the heavy, bulky bucket full of water and dumping it into a sink, toilet or drain. The bucket has multiple horizontal ribs, so you'll never get all the water out and will have to towel dry it in order to prevent mold. It is almost impossible to switch from bucket mode to hose drain mode. in order to do it, you have to unplug the unit, which is a problem since the outlet is behind my storage shelves in a difficult location, then you have to plug it back in, but make sure it's not sitting on the bucket, otherwise it won't work. Then you have to push and hold 2 buttons within a given amount of time and hope that the thing changes modes, it usually takes multiple tries. Then, once you have it in hose drain mode, then you can put it back onto the bucket. If you take it off the bucket though, even for a second, then you have to go through the whole procedure again. Why not just have it always drain out the hose opening and let it pour into the bucket if no hose is attached? Why not have a dedicated button to switch drain modes? This is not user friendly. The app is not great, there is no indicator of which drain mode you are in. If you accidentally click max or continuous, there is no way to unselect it without power-cycling the device. The device is quite loud, I have to keep it in a separate room behind a closed door or it is too loud to think straight. That's not a very good solution when you're trying to dehumidify.
Review by Rusty 17/07/2023It worked fine for the first year, but recently it stopped working, it was not even two years since I purchased it. Very hard to believe it, I thought it was a good brand with good quality. Obviously, I was wrong. I hope Midea can stand behind its product by offering longer warranty, not just one year.
Review by C.W. 16/07/2023This unit worked well for 1 year but then suddenly stopped dehumidifying after the warranty expired. I've cleaned the filters and vacuumed the coils to no avail. Stay away and stick with trusted brand names.
Review by Jay 24/06/2023This thing is basically a heater. After 5 minutes on my whole room feels like a sauna. I just saw another review that has the same issue so it seems that it must be designed this way. Terrible product. The last thing I want in a humid climate is heat.
