When operating in extended form, it has up to 3 times more water tank capacity than traditional dehumidifiers and can run much longer without the hassle of emptying the bucket. the device offers a bucketless mode (gravity drain directly into floor drain or other below level of dehumidifier) and this model has a pump so you can drain upwards (max head of 14 ft per manual). BUT the pump feature is actually (1) drain into bucket (2) pump out of bucket, so there will be stagnant water in bucket. This is not explained in the marketing or on the box, one might reasonably expect that the pump operates in bucketless mode (no stagnant water). I haven't had the unit long enough to assess reliability. I like the form factor but disappointed in implementation of pump feature.
