Midea Capai Produksi 3 Juta Unit dan Resmikan Pabrik Baru

Cikarang, 9 September 2026 – Midea Electronics Indonesia celebrated the production milestone of 3 million units, along with the inauguration of the Midea Electronics Indonesia factory, held on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, at Midea Electronics Indonesia’s Residential Air Conditioner factory in Cikarang.

In addition to the inauguration ceremony, the event included a tour of the Air Conditioner (AC) production facility, offering a firsthand look at Midea’s manufacturing process in Indonesia, as well as a symbolic ceremony commemorating the production milestone and strengthening Midea Electronics Indonesia’s manufacturing capacity.

The event was attended by Faisol Riza, Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia; Darmadi Durianto, Member of Commission VI of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia; Rifqi Ansari, Acting Director of Electronics and Telematics Industry (IET); Jack Ding, President Director of Midea Electronics Indonesia; Ma Kai, President of Residential Air Conditioner at PT Jaya Refrigeration Equipment; Wang Lei, President of Washing Machine at PT Jaya Refrigeration Equipment; and Ye Tao, President of Refrigerator at PT Jaya Refrigeration Equipment.

“The achievement of 3 million units marks an important milestone in Midea’s manufacturing journey in Indonesia. We will continue to invest, strengthen local production, and contribute to the growth of Indonesia’s manufacturing industry,” said Jack Ding, President Director of Midea Electronics Indonesia.

Since 2023, Midea has continued to expand its manufacturing investments in Indonesia. The Residential Air Conditioner facility in Cikarang sits on a 51,405-square-meter site, with its building area set to expand from approximately 13,000 square meters to 43,000 square meters.

In 2024, Midea also developed Twin Tub Washing Machine production at a 17,000-square-meter facility, which will be expanded in the future to include the Top Loading washing machine category. Meanwhile, Midea’s refrigerator factory in Karawang is built on a site spanning more than 150,000 square meters and will produce various product categories, ranging from side-by-side and double-door refrigerators to single-door refrigerators and chest freezers.

Faisol Riza, Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, expressed his appreciation for Midea’s investment and production development in Indonesia.

“Today, we are witnessing the achievement of 3 million units in production, consisting of 2.25 million air conditioner (AC) units, 1 million refrigerator units, and 367,500 washing machine units, as well as the inauguration of Midea Indonesia’s Air Conditioner and Refrigerator factories,” said Faisol Riza.

He added, “This achievement demonstrates the growing strength of Indonesia’s electronics manufacturing capacity in meeting both domestic and international market demand. This is reflected in Midea Electronics Indonesia’s exports, which have reached approximately 2 million units to various countries across ASEAN and North America as of 2026. The government remains committed to creating a conducive business climate through various policy instruments, including mandatory SNI and Domestic Component Level (TKDN) requirements. Going forward, we hope Midea can further strengthen Indonesia’s position within the company’s global production and business network. Indonesia is expected to be more than just a market, but also a strategic partner in manufacturing development and one of Midea’s key production bases to serve regional and global market needs.”

Meanwhile, Ma Kai, President of Residential Air Conditioner at PT Jaya Refrigeration Equipment, reaffirmed Midea’s commitment to continuing to increase investment, strengthen local operations and cooperation with domestic suppliers, and conduct business responsibly.

“We will continue to strengthen local investment and production, increase the use of domestic suppliers, and maintain safe, compliant, and sustainable operations to make a positive contribution to Indonesia,” said Ma Kai.

Meanwhile, Darmadi Durianto, Member of Commission VI of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, emphasized the important role of manufacturing investment in strengthening the national industrial ecosystem. “Investment expansion such as this is expected to create greater value for Indonesia while enhancing the competitiveness of products manufactured domestically,” he said.

Through strengthened local production, Midea aims not only to provide products that meet the needs of Indonesian consumers, but also to further strengthen Indonesia’s role as a Midea production base serving global markets.
